Solan, August 2
Town and Country Planning, Housing, Technical Education, Vocational and Industrial Training Minister Rajesh Dharmani said the state government was constantly striving to modify the curriculum of technical education to suit the industrial requirements.
He was presiding over a one-day state-level industrial consultation workshop organised in collaboration with the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh Industries Association (BBNIA) and Himachal Pradesh Skill Development Corporation at Baddi today.
“It is the need of the hour to make the youth skilled as per the requirements of the industry. Only youth, who can successfully comprehend and solve the present and future challenges, can get proper employment,” he stated.
“The state government is working in the direction of collaborating with industry so that the youth can get better employment opportunities,” he said.
Dharmani added that the state government was identifying the reasons for the lack of efficiency among the youth. “Suggestions from industry are important for upgrading the skills of the youth.”
He emphasised that industry could provide employment to the skilled youth by equipping them with further training. “The real strength of the country is the youth and their talent can be harnessed by providing them appropriate skills,” added Dharmani.
The main objective of the workshop was to understand the demand for technical skills and education in industry. He said it was necessary to provide technical education to enable economic development and generate employment opportunities.
Managing Director of Himachal Pradesh Skill Development Corporation, Gandharwa Rathore, gave detailed information about the skill development project. BBNIA president Rajeev Aggarwal discussed industrial requirements and the aspect of skill development.
