Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minsiter Rajnath Singh will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new Haryana Cabinet on October 17 in Panchkula. The oath-taking ceremony will be held under high police security.

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh and Haryana in-charge Dr Satish Poonia today organised a meeting at the party office at Panchkamal in the city and visited Shalimar Ground — the venue of the ceremony. The meeting was held regarding the preparations for the swearing-in ceremony.

Heads of different arrangements and officials who have been issued duties regarding the swearing-in ceremony attended the event. Former assembly speaker Gian Chand Gupta, former MP Sanjay Bhatia, BJP State General Secretary Surendra Poonia, Archana Gupta were also present during the meeting.

Chug said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Ministers, Chief Ministers of many states, MLAs of Haryana and BJP central leadership along with officials of the Haryana Government will attend the ceremony along with party workers and others.

Police Commissioner Sibash Kabiraj visited Shalimar Ground and took stock of the preparations. The commissioner held two meetings with nearly 24 IPS officers and over 30 DSP-level officers, who have been deputed in the city for the event.

Police officials said they are framing traffic guidelines for the city, which will be issued by Tuesday.
