The Education Department is making all-out efforts to improve the ranking of the state in the upcoming National Achievement Survey (NAS) in December. Today, a mock test was held in around 15,000 schools of the state to prepare schoolchildren for the NAS. In the NAS 2021, the state had finished 21st in the country.

Education Minister Rohit Thakur made a surprise inspection of a government school in the Shimla (Rural) Assembly constituency where a mock test was being conducted. “The state government is serious about improving the performance of Himachal in the Parakh survey. Our performance in 2021 was not good. For better performance this time, schoolchildren are being given continuous practice,” he added.

The minister asked teachers to work in the mission mode for the survey. “The responsibility of making preparations for the Parakh survey should not only be of primary-level teachers but school lecturers should also contribute to it,” he added.
