Mock drill held to prepare for quake rescue, relief operations

The Distrcit Disaster Management Authority held a mock drill to practice rescue and relief works at various places in the district today. A mock drill was organised at the campus of Jal Shakti Vibhag at Bhoranj to make people aware of immediate measures to be adopted during an earthquake. In this mock drill, people trapped in buildings were rescued and moved to the nearest relief and health facility. The mock drill was led by Sub Divisional Magistrate Shashipal Sharma as he also followed the procedure and responsibilities of the officer-in-charge at the disaster site. The SDM said these mock drills help in keeping the disaster response teams updated on the latest technologies.

The other mock drills and awareness programmes were organised at Government Senior School, Lambloo, and the interstate bus terminus.
