Deputy Chief Whip in the Himachal Assembly and Shahpur MLA, Kewal Singh Pathania, emphasised the government’s commitment to making Shahpur a model Assembly constituency.

Chairing a review meeting on development works in the region, he urged panchayat secretaries, technical assistants, and gram sevaks to ensure their positive contribution to development projects, warning that they would be held accountable for their responsibilities.

Pathania highlighted the government’s focus on rural development, revealing that Rs 6 crore has been spent on developmental activities in Shahpur so far. In a systematic approach, he began reviewing progress in 21 Gram Panchayats of the Rait Block, with plans to gather updates from other Panchayats in the constituency.

Pathania assured efforts to increase the financial assistance provided under the scheme. He also instructed rural development employees to expedite ongoing projects, emphasising that negligence in development works would not be tolerated.

Pathania chaired a separate review meeting to promote skill development at ITI Shahpur, one of the state’s oldest industrial training institutes. He stressed the need to prioritize skill development to enhance the institute’s reputation and align it with current industry demands.
