Deputy chief whip Himachal Assembly and Shahpur Congress MLA Kewal Singh Pathania distributed tablets to 229 teachers, including 165 from Rait education block, 35 from Dharamsala education block and 29 JBTs, head teachers and central head teachers of Kotla education block.

He was the chief guest at a programme organised to hold discussion on the title “Delivering quality of education by primary teachers”. The programme was organised in the Shahpur Assembly constituency under the “Shiksha Samvad Aur Shikshak”.

The MLA said as part of the government’s efforts to promote digitalisation in education and administrative work, tablets were being given to primary schoolteachers in the state. He said 2,726 tablets would be given to primary teachers in Kangra district. He said, “The objective of this initiative is to promote modernisation in teaching work, ensure access to digital educational resources and simplify administrative work like updating data. This facility will bring qualitative improvement in education. Apart from this, through these tablets, teachers will be able to participate in online training programmes and gain more information.”

He said, “The state government is taking important steps for qualitative improvement in the field of education so that maximum facilities can be provided to children studying in government educational institutions.”

Pathania said 498 JBT teachers were recruited in the district and other vacant posts would also be filled soon. He called upon teachers to work on a mission mode to increase the number of children in schools and establish communication with women’s groups and panchayat representatives.

He instructed Deputy Director of Education to ensure that there was at least one projector at the education block office so that power point presentations could be given without any hindrance.
