SS Mishra has taken over the charge of General Manager of the Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala. A Postgraduate in Mechanical Engineering and Management from IIT-Chennai, Mishra is a 1988 batch Officer of the Indian Railways Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME). Prior to this appointment, he was holding the post of Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer at the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai.

Mishra has served for more than 36 years in the Railways. He has worked in various capacities in various zonal railways, production units and in RVNL. Besides the PCME at Chennai, he has held posts of Chief Administrative Officer at Lattur/ICF, Chief Rolling Stock Engineer at Secunderabad and other key posts at Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, Kazipet and other places. In his illustrious career in the Railways, he has received many awards at the GM’s level.

He has travelled extensively across India in his official capacity for development and export of rolling stock.

RCF employees expressed the new appointment of Mishra, who is well-known for his managerial and innovative skills in the Railways, will give a new direction to the RCF's hopes and plans to innovate in the quality of rail coaches and increase their production.
