A teacher of a coaching institute has been booked on the charges of rape and criminal intimidation on the complaint of a minor girl in Hisar district.

Police sources said the girl was reportedly sexually assaulted by the teacher on June 29 at the tuition centre when she had gone to take classes in the morning. The 16-year-old girl disclosed the incident to her mother on returning home. The girl’s parents later lodged the complaint with the police.

A police spokesperson said a case under relevant sections of the POCSO Act has been registered at the Adampur police station in the district.
