Minor abducted in Phagwara, one booked

The police have booked a person for abducting a minor in Phagwara. The girl has been missing since December 11.

The accused has been identified as Deepak Kumar.

In his complaint, girl’s father Raj Kumar expressed his doubts that his neighbour, Deepak, had abducted his daughter. Following the complaint, a case was registered in the matter. No arrest has been made so far.

Zimbabwe man held for illegally residing in India

The Phagwara police have arrested a Zimbabwe man, identified as Brain Nyikadzinashe, currently living in Hargobind Nagar Phagwara, for illegally residing in India even after the expiry of his visa. The police are investigating the case.

Liquor smuggler held

The police arrested a liquor smuggler and seized 48 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession on Saturday. The accused, identified Ramu, a resident of Andhra Pradesh, was nabbed at a checkpoint. A case under the Punjab Excise Act has been registered against the accused.
