Ministers will visit villages to address public issues: Sukhu
Cabinet ministers will visit gram panchayats in the state to address the grievances of people on their doorsteps and review development works there, said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at Putariyal village in the Nadaun Constituency of Hamirpur district after launching of the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana near here today.
He said that his government was poised to usher in development in every corner of the state. He added that he was in Putariyal village under the government initiative ‘Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ and would listen to the problems of the residents of the local panchayat as well as of the constituency.
Sukhu announced several development projects for Putariyal village and said efforts were afoot to construct the Lalu-Dhaniyara road and another road from the village to Talai. “All roads in Hamirpur district, as well as across the state, are being upgraded to double lane. Efforts will also be made to provide high-quality water to enhance people’s living standards,” he added.
He said, “I am not only the Chief Minister of the state but also the MLA from Nadaun. Thus, I am responsible for the development of the area. All demands, including a new school building, construction of link roads, health and water supply, will be fulfilled soon. I have directed Education Department officials to prepare the best drawing of the school building in the area.”
The Chief Minister gave away eligibility certificates to children, who were eligible to get benefits under the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana. He said that an Ekal Nari Bhawan would be established in the Jawalamukhi constituency at a cost of Rs 100 crore to provide shelter to women living alone.
He said that when the state government delayed the payment of salaries to employees for four days, the BJP raised a hue and cry across the country but when the salaries for two months were released in one go to the employees, the BJP leaders maintained silence and did not utter a word of appreciation. He added, “I am committed to making the state self reliant by 2027. I will do everything for the development of the state even if I have to face criticism from my own party.”
Earlier, the Chief Minister listened to public grievances at the Sera rest house in Nadaun. He said that addressing public grievances was the top priority of his government and the ‘Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ initiative was launched from the Dodra Kwar area of Shimla district recently.
Dehra MLA Kamlesh Thakur, Chairman of Kangra Cooperative Primary, Agriculture and Rural Development Bank Ram Chander Pathania, Congress leader Surender Mankotia, Congress Nadaun Block president Capt Prithi Chand, Deputy Commissioner Amarjeet Singh and SP Bhagat Singh were present on the occasion.
