Shimla, January 22

Transport Minister Govind Singh Thakur today said 1,400 vacancies would be filled in the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC).

At a meeting with HRTC officials, the minister reviewed the performance of the corporation.

He asked the officials to ensure that passengers were provided with better facilities.

The minister directed the management to inspect bus stands, workshops and HRTC approved dhabas on a regular basis. They were told to take strict action against dhaba owners violating norms.

Managing director, HRTC, Yunus Khan, executive director Anupam Kashyap and managers were present at the meeting.
