Chandigarh MP Manish Tewari has said Metro is the future of Chandigarh, which not only will help increase its economic growth, but also help the industry. He was speaking at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry tenth Ins/Out Exhibition here today. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh.

“It is necessary to draft a common regional development plan, which can connect the adjoining states and foster the economic growth of the region. I have been promoting the Metro project since 2019, because I believe that if you have a transport system from Ambala to Kurali till Panchkula, you can integrate the region economically and unleash its economic potential, which has unfortunately been lagging for a very long time,” he said.

Tewari further said, “Chandigarh is the heritage city, but unfortunately parts of UT are suffering from this heritage inertia disease, which is holding back the progress and development of this city.”
