The police have registered a case against unidentified persons for opening fire at the manager of a showroom located near the residence of Union Minister of State and local MP Krishan Pal Gurjar here on Monday. No arrest has been made so far.

The incident took place around 10.30 pm in Sector 28 when two youths, who arrived at a vehicle showroom, opened fire at the manager following a brief verbal spat.

The accused, who were in an inebriated condition, were confronted by the manager when they hit a motorcyclist in front of the showroom. The accused then opened fire at him in anger and fled the spot after a bullet hit the victim’s hand. While the injured was taken to a hospital, he was discharged after being given a first-aid treatment. The police seized two empty cartridges. The spot is nearly 500 m away from the residence of the Union Minister of State. The police have registered a case of attempt to murder and checked the CCTV footage, said a police official. He said the accused would be nabbed soon. — TNS
