Sewage treatment plants at Khapar Kheri, Gaunsabad and Chattiwind are working 24×7. A special motor pump has been installed at Khapar Kheri STP to speed up sewage flow in the storm sewer. Officials are monitoring work at disposal plants so that these do not break down at any time. Harpreet Singh, Municipal Commissioner

He claimed that residents would not have to face any waterlogging issue during the rainy season. He said, “Bucket type sewer cleaning machines and super sucker machines are working in low-lying areas of the city.”

“Before the start of the rainy season, we had already alerted all officials and staff of the operation and maintenance (O&M) wing to be ready with allied machinery. It is true that whenever rain comes, the city roads get inundated. Due to homework done by the MC, water gets drained from roads in no time now. In the low-lying areas, machines are working day and night. We are sure that residents will not have to face any problem,” the MC Commissioner said.
