In a bid to unite Sikhs across Haryana, Lakhwinder Singh Sirsa, representing the Haryana Sikh Ekta Dal, announced that a large number of Sikh devotees from Sirsa would participate in the Sikh Conference to be held in Karnal on September 8.

He said the conference aimed to bring together the Sikh community from all districts, transcending party politics and caste divisions to highlight their issues.

During a press conference, Lakhwinder Singh said over 200 meetings had been held in various districts to prepare for the Sikh Conference.

Key religious leaders, including jathedars of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Takht Damdama Sahib, Takht Sri Patna Sahib, and Takht Sri Hazur Sahib, are expected to attend the event. Prominent Sikh historians will discuss the scattered history of Sikhs in Haryana, which was part of Punjab before 1966. The conference will focus on issues such as enforcing stricter laws to prevent desecration of Guru Granth Sahib, release of Sikh prisoners who have completed their sentences and ensuring adequate representation for Sikhs in political and government positions.
