MEA assures help to bring bodies of Georgia tragedy victims
Coming to the rescue of aggrieved families of Punjabi youths, who were killed in Georgia due to carbon monoxide poisoning three days ago, the Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has assured that bodies of the victims would be brought and transported to their native places at government’s expenses in case the employers or agents don’t own the responsibility.
The assurance comes in response to an appeal made by Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr Amar Singh.
“In case agents do not own the responsibility of bringing back the bodies, we will incur expenses from funds available with us and arrange transportation of bodies as early as possible,” said Charanjit Singh, MEA in-charge in Georgia, while responding to a call made by Boparai.
Showing satisfaction over the response, Boparai said most of the aggrieved families were facing challenges in completing formalities for bringing back the bodies the victims. He added that the official concerned had claimed that efforts were being made to bring the bodies back and get these transported to the home towns of the deceased.
