University Teaching Departments (UTD) defeated DAV Faridabad by 101 runs, while Pandit Neki Ram Sharma College defeated Hindu College, Sonepat, by 92 runs in the MDU Inter-College Men’s Cricket Competition. UTD’s Rohit scored 104 runs in 63 balls.

In the first match of the competition held at MDU’s Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Cricket Stadium on Sunday, UTD defeated DAV Faridabad. Batting first, UTD’s team scored 201 runs losing five wickets in 20 overs.

In response, the entire DAV Faridabad team was all out for 100 runs. UTD’s Rohit scored 104 runs in just 63 balls and Gaurav scored 34 runs in 11 balls. Adit Rathi of UTD took three wickets for 13 runs in three overs and Jatin took two wickets for seven runs in three overs. Lakshay of DAV Faridabad scored 39 runs in 21 balls.

In the second match, Pandit Neki Ram Sharma College, Rohtak, defeated Hindu College, Sonepat, by 92 runs and entered the semifinals.

Batting first, Neki Ram College scored 158 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs, while Hindu College, Sonipat, was all out for just 66 runs. Shiman Saini of Pandit Neki Ram College, Rohtak, scored 55 runs in 43 balls and Aryan took four wickets for 12 runs in four overs. The tournament was inaugurated by MDU Sports Director Prof RP Garg. He said only those players who practice on their own brought glory to the country. MDU cricket coach Mukesh Goyal welcomed Prof Garg.
