MC to start replacing tubelights with LED in Yamunanagar
The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), will start replacing streetlights in wards of Yamunanagar on Friday.
In the first phase, the MCYJ will replace 3,500 tubelights with LED streetlights in seven wards comprising wards 16 to 22.
Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha said work of changing the streetlights would begin on Friday.
“LED lights will be installed in place of tubelights. The work of replacing about 3,500 LED streetlights will be started in wards 16 to 22,” said Sinha.
He said they were making efforts to keep the twin cities clean, neat and beautiful.
He said under the ‘Divya Nagar Yojana’, three roads of the twin cities would be beautified.
“Soon, three roads of the twin cities will be beautified. First of all, the work of beautification of Gymkhana Club Road will be done. Besides, undertaking beautification work of divider, side berms and footpahts; decorative lights will be installed on the road,” said Sinha.
He said after completion of the beautification work of Gymkhana Club Road, the beautification work of other two roads will begin.
He said ‘I Love Yamunanagar and I Love Jagadhri’ were installed with lights at many places in Yamunanagar and Jagadhri.
“I Love Jagadhri will also be installed at Rakshak Vihar checkpost in about 15 days. Dasehra Ground of Yamunanagar will also be beautified soon,” said Sinha.
