MC starts spraying water using anti-smog gun to combat pollution
The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) has started spraying water across twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri with the help of an anti-smog gun to combat pollution.
After flagging off a vehicle fitted with an anti-smog gun from the Mini-Secretariat, Jagadhri, on Thursday, Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha said the effort of the MCYJ would help in curbing the rising air pollution.
According to information, fine droplets of water were sprayed in the air through the anti-smog gun on the main roads of the twin cities, including Mini-Secretariat Road, Ambala Road, Chhachhrauli Road and Railway Road today.
“To reduce air pollution, the MCYJ has started spraying water with the help of an anti-smog gun, so that people don’t have any problem in breathing,” said Sinha.
As per available information, the vehicle fitted with an anti-smog gun will run on the roads at a speed of 10 to 15 km per hour.
The water will be sprayed in the middle and on both sides of the roads.
The water spray can reach a height of about 150 ft and more than 30 liters of water can be sprayed in a minute.
“An anti-smog gun is a technology that helps in reducing air pollution. The gun is used to remove pollutants present in the air. It converts the water into a fine spray with droplets by passing it at high pressure through propellers,” said Sinha.
On the occasion, Chief Sanitary Inspector Sunil Dutt, Sanitary Inspectors Pradeep Dahiya, Sushil Kumar and Sumit were present.
