MC cracks whip on illegal constructions

Acting against illegal constructions, the Municipal Corporation (MC) sealed an illegal under-construction building on Rahon Road on Tuesday. Additionally, the building branch team of the MC’s Zone-A demolished an illegal under-construction colony on the main Peeru Banda road today.

The civic body officials stated that the action was taken against the illegal colony being constructed on the Peeru Banda road in the past, too, but the owner had again started the construction work, following which the demolition drive was organised on Tuesday.

Working on the directions of MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal, strict legal action is also being taken against the coloniser, they added.

Speaking of the illegal building on the Rahon road, the building branch officials stated that the owner was taking up construction works in violation of the building bylaws, due to which the building had now been sealed.

Meanwhile, MC Commissioner Dachalwal urged the residents to start construction work only after getting the building plan approved from the civic body; otherwise, strict action would be taken against them.
