MC court seeks Sanjauli mosque panel’s reply on 2 floors
The Municipal Commissioner’s Court has sought replies from the Sanjauli Mosque Committee and the Himachal Pradesh Waqf Board regarding the remaining two floors of the five-storey mosque in Sanjauli. The court had on October 5 directed the committee to raze the top three floors of the mosque within two months.
After the hearing in the case, Himachal Pradesh Waqf Board office-bearer Qutbuddin said that, as per the orders of the Commissioner’s Court, summons would be issued after the reply regarding the ground and first floors of the mosque was filed on the next date of hearing. He added that the reply would be filed after the committee receives the notice.
The case is also being heard in the district court as a Muslim organisation has sought a stay on the Commissioner Court’s order to demolish the top three floors of the mosque. The next hearing in the district court is scheduled for November 18.
