MC Commissioner orders FIR over illegal construction in Gurugram
In the ongoing ‘Samadhan’ camps being organised by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), Commissioner Narhari Singh Banger has issued an order to seal the unauthorised construction being carried out on the roof of an unsafe building/house in the Housing Board Colony and told the police to register an FIR against the contractor who was hired to construct the illegal portion in the unsafe building.
The MC Commissioner took the decision while hearing a complaint of the Housing Board Colony located in Sector 52 on Tuesday. The complainant, Indrajit Kakkar, said he lived on the ground floor of a house in the colony. The person living above his house was constructing the fourth floor, and that it was being done without approval against the sanctioned plan. He claimed that the foundation of the house was not strong enough to bear a four-storey building on it.
“Due to the illegal construction, my family and I are facing danger to life and property due to the possibility of house collapse,” he said. After listening to the complaint and verifying the documents, the Commissioner instructed Assistant Engineer (Enforcement) Krishna Kumar to immediately issue a notice to the person concerned for constructing an additional floor on an unsafe foundation and also inform the Housing Board officials about the violation. Along with this, he asked him to seal the illegal construction and lodge an FIR against the contractor who had carried out the construction.
