Union Minister and former Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar addressed party workers in Ambala City, stating that the closure of the Shambhu border is a major issue. Khattar alleged that individuals pretending to be farmers on the other side of the border aim to disrupt the system and destabilise the government.

“A plan was chalked out to reopen this border, but I must inform you that the people on the other side are not genuine farmers,” Khattar said. “Some individuals are masquerading as farmers to cause disturbance and instability. The people of Haryana are pleased that strong barricades prevented unwanted entry.”

Khattar added that the matter is currently before the courts, and a Supreme Court-constituted committee is working on a solution. “We are hopeful that the issue will be resolved soon. However, the court may impose certain conditions before reopening the border, considering the chaos that ensued previously.”
