Mandi school celebrates annual prize distribution ceremony with enthusiasm
DAV Centenary Public School (CPS), Jawahar Nagar, Mandi, celebrated its annual prize distribution ceremony with great zeal and grandeur on Sunday.
The event, held at the cultural auditorium of Sanskriti Sadan, was attended by about 450 students, teachers and distinguished guests.
This year’s event was themed “Sampratyutsav”, symbolising the celebration of time and the achievements of students.
The ceremony was presided over by chief guest Ravinder Talwar, secretary, DAV CMC, New Delhi.
Special guests included GK Bhatnagar and Vandna Guleria. The event began with a traditional Himachali dance performed by the school’s young students.
Principal KS Guleria delivered the annual report, which highlighted the academic and extracurricular accomplishments of the school throughout the year.
The report reflected the school’s continuous commitment to providing holistic education to its students, focusing not only on academic excellence but also on fostering moral values and character development.
This was followed by a soulful rendition of verses from the Ramcharitmanas by students, setting the tone for the next major highlight of the event: a captivating two-and-a-half-hour-long theatrical presentation of the Ramayana.
In his address, Talwar shared an inspiring message emphasising the significance of DAV’s values and the institution’s unwavering dedication to the holistic development of its students.
He lauded DAV’s position as the largest private educational organisation in India, committed to shaping disciplined, well-rounded individuals. He also commended the leadership of the principal KS Guleria, praising DAV Mandi for its continued focus on imparting moral values alongside academic education.
The event concluded with a vibrant festival dance performance by students, symbolising the school’s spirit of celebration and togetherness.
Among the top scorers awarded at the event were Dhruv Sharma, Janvi, Aishanya Thakur, Ankita Thakur, Jappanjyot Singh Bedi, Akshara, Romil, Sejal and Nishant Bhardwaj from the medical stream; Shivam Goyal, Manan Gupta, Shringarika, Sangam, Harshad Singh, Samridhika, Asmit, Harshita and Arsh from non-medical; and Manat Kaur, Ronak, Anshul Katoch, Diveni Aroraand Dakshdeep Singh from the commerce stream. The meritorious students from the humanities stream included Saksham, Malvika, Titiksha, Lavya Kapoor and Brahmpreet.
