Mandi 2nd in Good Governance Index

Mandi district has bagged the second position in the state in Good Governance Index-2019.
Deputy Commissioner Rugved Thakur will receive the award at a state-level function in Shimla on August 13. It will be presented by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. The state government had launched Good Governance Index to compare the status and performance of governance in all districts. Good governance quality is judged at the district level through seven themes, 18 main themes and 45 indicators.
The Chief Minister said the objective was to make the governance system better and result-oriented.
“The index is a uniform means of assessing the current state of good governance in all districts and being aware of the effects of various important steps taken by the government,” he said.
The Deputy Commissioner said the entire team of the district administration had made iefforts to provide good governance in the district.
“To facilitate the citizens with online facilities to procure different kinds of certificates or revenue-related documents, the district administration has made Mandi an e-district. It is a first in the state. Citizens can get all certificates at home through the e-district facility. It will save their time and money,” he said.
