The victim, whose name has been withheld, stated that he was associated with the Police Department for around two years and shared information regarding drones leading to recovery of drugs a number of times.

He said on Thursday evening, he got a call from Amandeep Singh who said he wanted to talk to him urgently. The victim said when he asked Amandeep to talk over phone, the latter insisted that he wanted to show him something.

The victim said he, along with his two brothers, went to meet Amandeep. He said Amandeep caught him from his arm and pulled him inside his house where other suspects including Gurnoor Singh were present. He alleged that Amandeep tied him with a pillar and Dilbagh started beating him with sticks. He said Amandeep, Dharminder and Gurnoor physically assaulted him while alleging that he informed the police about movements of drone thereby causing losses to them.

He alleged that the suspects threatened to kill him if he shared any information about smuggling of drugs and weapons through drones to any policeman. He said his brother, parents and other people of the village got him released from the illegal detention of the suspects.

The police said a case under Sections 140 (3), 351 (2), 351 (3), 3 (5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered against Dilbagh Singh, Dharminder Singh and Amandeep Singh. Efforts were on to arrest the suspects, the police added.
