Man stabbed to death in Karnal village while mediating dispute

A tragic incident occurred in Takhana village, where 32-year-old Sunny, a resident of Dayanagar under the Taraori police station, was fatally stabbed by a group of people late Friday night. Sunny, a driver and father of two, was attempting to mediate a dispute in his in-laws’ village when the attack happened.

According to reports, Sunny’s brother-in-law, Sunil, sought his help in resolving the dispute with their neighbours. Despite their efforts to calm the situation, they were attacked, resulting in Sunny’s death. The incident sparked outrage among the locals, leading to the accused’s house being set on fire, causing significant property damage.

Police and fire personnel promptly responded to control the situation and prevent further violence. The Taraori police registered a murder case against eight persons and initiated an investigation. The body was sent for the postmortem examination and later handed over to Sunny’s family.
