Man, son sentenced to life for murder
The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge sentenced a man and his son to rigorous imprisonment for life for murder. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 33,000 on each of them.
The convicts, Mahabir Singh and his father, Phool Singh — both residents of Tigri Khalsa — had killed Bimla Devi.
A Kurukshetra police spokesman said in his complaint on March 25, 2021, Bittu had stated that on March 24, Phool and his son came to his house with sticks and attacked him and his family members. Meanwhile, the complainant’s mother, Bimla Devi, tried to intervene but she was also assaulted, and got severely injured. Bimla was taken to the LNJP hospital, from where she was referred to PGI-Chandigarh, where she died while undergoing treatment.
A case was registered at the KUK police station. On October 18, the court held both Mahabir Singh and Phool guilty.
