Man shot dead in Bathinda

One person was shot dead by two bike-borne miscreants at Mehna chowk on Monday late evening. The deceased was identified as Nirmal Singh of Neeta street. The miscreants managed to flee after the incident.

Nirmal Singh reportedly worked at an AC repair shop. He was travelling on a scooter with his co-owner when two motorcycle-borne miscreants opened fire on him. Four shots were fired, one hit him in the forehead and he collapsed.

Volunteers of NGO Naujawan Welfare Society took him to the Civil Hospital, where doctor declared him “brought dead”.

Bathinda SSP Amneet Kondal said, “It seems to be a case of personal enmity, but the exact reason will be known only after a probe.”
