An Additional Sessions Judge (Fast Track Special Court under POCSO Act), awarded 20 years rigorous imprisonment to a man for sexually abusing a minor girl.

Guldev Kumar Tandon, Special Public Prosecutor, said the ASJ also imposed a fine of Rs 40,000 on convict Vivek, alias Vicky (23) of a village falling under the Bilaspur police station in Yamunanagar district.

He said in default of payment of fine, the convict would further undergo simple imprisonment for a period of one year.

On the complaint of the mother of the victim, a case was registered against Vivek under several Sections of the IPC and the POCSO Act at the Bilaspur police station on August 28, 2020.

The complainant told the police that her 17-year-old minor daughter used to go to the neighbouring village to learn sewing and embroidery work.

She alleged that Vivek used to trouble her on her way to the sewing centre.

According to information, the victim told the court in her statement that she was sexually abused by the accused.

She alleged that the accused made her MMS and uploaded it on social media.
