In a tragic incident, a 50-year-old man died after being attacked by a swarm of bees in Sector 16 here this evening.

The victim, identified as Munna Tiwari of Nayagaon, was riding a bicycle when he was stung multiple times by bees. The police reported that Munna, a gardener employed in Sector 21, was on his way home from work when he was attacked on the slip road along the stretch separating Sectors 16 and 11 around 3 pm.

In an attempt to escape the attack, he rushed towards an auto-rickshaw. The auto driver, noticing his critical condition, rushed him to the GMSH, Sector 16. However, the victim was declared dead on arrival. Sources said few passers-by were also stung.

The police said the victim was residing with his sister at Nayagaon. “Further proceedings are being carried out under the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita,” said a police officer.
