The Malaud police on Friday registered a case against a woman and three other persons for abetting the suicide of

her husband.

The deceased was identified as Sikandar Singh. The suspects were identified as Gagandeep Kaur, deceased’s wife and a resident of Sohian village, his mother-in-law Sukhdev Kaur, sister-in-law Amandeep Kaur and brother-in-law Balraj Singh, all residents of Kharar.

The complainant, Rajwinder Singh, of Sohian, Malaud, told the police that his brother’s wife Gagandeep Kaur had been harassing her husband for a long time.

On November 7, the woman had a fight with his brother and she even slapped him. Following which, his brother

left home in his car. After two hours when his brother returned home, froth was oozing out of his brother’s mouth, he said.

On being asked about the reason of his condition, his brother said he made an attempt to die by suicide due to his harassment by wife and in-laws. The victim was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

The suspects are yet to be arrested in the case.
