Man dies, 3 of family injured in road accident in Phagwara

Police say accident took place on Jamalpur flyover when the family was returning from paying obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib

One person died while three others, including two siblings, were injured after their car rammed into a stationary truck on the national highway stretch between Phagwara and Ludhiana on Sunday, police said.

The accident took place on the Jamalpur flyover when the family was returning from paying obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib, police said.

The man, Varinder Kumar (48), a resident of Pakhowal road, Phagwara, died on the spot while his wife Rajwinder Kaur and two minor sons were injured.

SHO City Jatinder Kumar said the truck fled after the accident and efforts are being made to arrest the driver.
