Machine owners provided land for storage of bales in Faridkot district

The Faridkot administration has come to the rescue of around 100 baler owners by providing them rent-free land for the storage of bales.

Though baler machines are working on a war footing, farmers complained that bales were being left by the machine owners in their fields, which caused difficulty in sowing wheat.

The baler owners said despite all their efforts to transport maximum bales to biomass plant at Sedha Singh Wala village in the district, they were unable to clear the fields due to heavy rush.

Keeping in view the difficulty faced by baler owners in clearing the fields, Faridkot Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar on Sunday issued directions to the Panchayat Department to provide land to baler owners for temporary storage of bales. No rent would be charged from balers for storage of bales, said the DC. Providing panchayat land for storage of bales in all villages would make land available for sowing wheat on time, said the DC.

Faridkot Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Amrik Singh said, “There are 100 baler owners in the district. After storing bales on panchayat land, balers can easily transport these to the biomass plants.”
