Youth dies as two-wheelers collide

A speeding scooter and a motorcycle collided near Arora Palace here on Saturday night. In the accident, the motorcyclist suffered a head injury. The youth, who was taken to Civil Hospital, was declared brought dead by doctors. The youth riding the scooter was also injured.

The deceased was identified as Satinder Singh.

According to information, a speeding bike and a scooter collided in front of Dayal Sweets on Gill Road around 9:30 pm on Saturday night. The collision was so severe that both vehicles were badly damaged. The bike rider succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital. Passers-by informed

The deceased was a resident of Shimlapuri. He used to work at a chicken shop in the area. On Saturday night, Satinder went to deliver chicken in the Shimlapuri area. On the way, his bike collided with a speeding scooter.

Police sources said Satinder’s wife divorced him a few years ago. He was survived by his elderly parents and two children. The scooter rider was identified as Jatin. His mother Sunita said they were residing at Shimlapuri Quality Chowk. They received a call from someone and came to know about the accident.

On the other hand, when Jatin went home after getting medical treatment in he late hours, Satinder’s family and some other people said police staff deployed at the Civil Hospital let the youth, who had allegedly caused the accident, escape. ASI Munir Masih said the police did not let any youth escape. Appropriate action as per law would be taken against him.
