Two brothers of woman steal gold jewellery from her house
The Mullanpur Dakha police on Friday registered a case against two brothers for committing a theft at the house of their sister. Even the jeweller who bought stolen valuables from the duo was also booked by the police.
The suspects have been identified as Mandeep Singh, alias Mani, Jaswant Singh, alias Babbar, and jeweller Kala Garg.
The complainant, Sandeep Kaur, a resident of Mandiana village, told the police that she runs a boutique at Mullanpur Dakha. Every morning she goes to her boutique while her children go to school. She has two brothers, Mandeep Singh (27), who is married and stays in Kotman, and Jaswant Singh, younger brother, who stays with her aunt Sukhwinder Kaur at Mandiani village.
“My brothers often come to my home and they know everything about the house. Both of them opened locks of the house and stole gold ornaments, including a necklace weighing 11 gm, pair of earrings, a locket weighing 8 gm and a chain, two rings weighing 10 gm and two pairs of earrings weighing 10 gm, kept in the iron almirah. On October 10, I had seen the ornaments in the almirah. On November 16, these were found missing as the same was stolen by my brothers,” she said.
She said when she asked her brothers about the theft, they confessed to the crime, stating that they had sold ornaments to Garg Jewellers. When the jeweller was asked about the same, he started making excuses.
The complainant said she was sure that her brothers had stolen the gold ornaments and then sold the same to the jeweller.
ASI Tarsem Singh said a probe was launched in the case.
