Two booked for theft at govt school
Two miscreants barged into a government school at Kaunke Kalan village here on Wednesday. The Sadar Jagraon police identified the suspects and registered a case against them in this regard. They have been identified as Sandeep Kumar and Vicky, both residents of Indira Colony, Dakha.
In his complaint to the police, Pargat Singh, who works as a watchman at Government Senior Secondary School, Kaunke Kalan village, he stays in the school at night. On December 4, he locked all rooms of the school and went to sleep around 10 pm. When he was taking a round of the school around 4 am, he was shocked to see that the lock of the principal room was lying broken.
“When I went inside the room, I found an inverter, an LED TV, a portable speaker system, CCTV cameras and DVR missing. I immediately informed school principal Daljit Kaur about the incident. After getting information, the principal, along with other teachers, reached the spot,” said Singh.
During investigation by the school authorities, it came to fore that the duo committed the theft. The authorities informed the police about the incident, following which a case was registered against the accused yesterday.
Investigating officer ASI Dharminder Singh said Sandeep also had a criminal past as three cases, including drug smuggling, were already registered against him. The duo committed thefts at government schools in Amargarh Kaler and Kaunke Kalan. Raids were being conducted to nab them.
