Participants from nine schools of the district vied for top honours in the one-day Ludhiana Sports Council (East) Badminton Tournament, held at Millennium World School here today.

In the girls U-14 section, Tagore International School secured the top position, while Doraha Public School finished in second place, and Mount International School bagged the third position.

The students of Garden Valley School proved their mettle by clinching the title in the boys U-14 category. Tagore International School and Mount International School finished first and second runners-up, respectively. Anupam Kumaria, honorary general secretary of the Punjab Badminton Association, and Raminder Singh, a prominent sports promoter, distributed prizes to the winners.
