Startup workshop at agri varsity
In a pioneering effort to elevate agribusiness innovation, the School of Business Studies (SBS) at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organised an intensive agri startup workshop to energise young agripreneurs and redefine the food value chain in Punjab. Designed as a dynamic platform, the workshop brought together students, industry leaders, entrepreneurs and academic minds to explore opportunities in food value chain initiatives spanning food, fruits, vegetables, pulses, and cereals. Through a nurturing and supportive environment, the workshop sought to empower emerging agribusiness startups to reshape Punjab’s agricultural landscape sustainably. The workshop was held under the banner of Technology Business Incubator (NIDHI-TBI).
Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, vice-chancellor of PAU, lauded NIDHI-TBI team’s efforts in crafting a space for young minds to harness their creativity and develop forward-thinking solutions for the agribusiness sector. “Opportunities for agripreneurs in Punjab are abundant and growing from developing crops tailored for health-conscious consumers to tapping into emerging plant-based food trends. What we envision here is a transformation of Punjab’s agricultural identity through innovation and sustainable practices,” he stated.
Dr Ramandeep Singh observed, “In agribusiness, every innovation, every new concept has a potential to create ripples that enhance lives and livelihoods. This workshop is about equipping you with more than just skills.”
