Sony Kaur of Hoshiarpur finished ahead of others in 100m sprint and emerged the fastest runner in the girls’ U-17 section in the ongoing third edition of State-Level Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan being organised by the Punjab Sports Department in association with the district administration here on Thursday.

Sony was followed by Aditi Lohia from Mohali and Kashish of Sangrur at the second and third place, respectively. In triple jump, Harpreet Kaur of Tarn Taran, Manpreet Kaur of Jalandhar and Khushpreet Kaur of Ludhiana secured the first three positions while in javelin throw, Veerpali of Muktsar notched up the top position, Harpreet Kaur of Barnala finished second while Dashpreet Kaur of Mohali had to content with the third position.

In the girls’ U-21 category, Lovejot Kaur of Nawanshahr came first in 100m race.
