Two unidentified persons allegedly attacked the house of a Hindu leader with a diesel bomb in New Chandar Nagar here. His car was damaged in the attack.

The incident led to panic in the area. After getting information about the incident, the Haibowal and Jagatpuri police reached the spot and initiated investigation into the case.

The entire incident was captured in CCTV cameras installed in the area. The police are scanning the footage of CCTV cameras to get clues about the suspects.

Giving information, Shiv Sena (Bharat Vanshi) national president Yogesh Bakshi said he heard noise in the street around 8.30 pm yesterday. When he came out of his house, he saw his car in flames.

Bakshi said he immediately doused the fire. When he scrutinised the footage of CCTV cameras installed outside the house, he came to know that two youths came on a bike and threw diesel bomb at his house.

Bakshi said the miscreants set a glass bottle on fire and threw at his house. The glass bottle, however, fell on his car. As a result, the four-wheeler caught fire.

Bakshi said he had received threats on July 30. He also met the Police Commissioner in this regard and apprised police officials of the threat, but his complaints were not taken seriously.

The police said a case had been registered in this regard and further investigations were on to identify the suspects.
