One of the likely reasons being cited for the murderous attack on Shiv Sena leader Sandeep Thapar, alias Gora, is that he had raised his voice against Khalistan, anti-national elements and issues concerning people. Sena leaders stated this on condition of anonymity while holding a protest against “lawlessness” in this industrial hub. The Facebook page of Thapar, which has 6,600 followers, contains hundreds of posts against Khalistan and terrorism.

After the recent incident of a girl performing yoga at the Golden Temple, which was condemned by the SGPC, Thapar had backed the girl and also posted images of another girl, a foreigner, performing yoga at the shrine with the comment “Dollar zindabad”.

  • He had also put out posts on social media against farmers. He used to condemn the farmers’ agitation and debt waiver for them

After Kangana was allegedly slapped by a CISF jawan at the Chandigarh international airport, he had posted that if some people wanted to reward the CISF jawan for slapping Kangana, how would they feel if someone had rewarded former DGP KPS Gill, who controlled insurgency in the state, and General AS Vaidya, who led the Operation Blue Star.

On June 7, he posted a video allegedly showing Nihangs serving non-vegetarian food in a langar.

Thapar had also put out posts on the social media against farmers. He regularly condemned the farmers’ agitation and debt waiver for them.

“Farmers should not be called food providers (annadaata), are they giving food free of cost to us?” he had once stated.
