Rangoli-making, clay modelling take centre stage on Day 3 of vet varsity youth fest
Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, today witnessed rangoli-making, clay modelling, and installation competitions during the third day of the ongoing youth festival. Dr Parkash Singh Brar, director of students’ welfare, said the youth festival helped refresh the minds of youngsters and provided them an opportunity to showcase their talent. Students from the College of Veterinary Science, College of Dairy and Food Science Technology, College of Fisheries, College of Animal Biotechnology, Veterinary Science College, Rampura Phul, Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani, Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Amritsar, participated in the events.
Vikas Kumar, Principal Commissioner, GST, was the guest of honour at the event. He said competitions like these induced a feeling of nostalgia in him and refreshed memories of youthfulness. He urged students to inculcate artistic skills into their lives. Dr Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor, saw all the artwork made by the students during the competition. He said that although the college students were from science backgrounds, their extramural abilities were as good as the students of arts disciplines. Nakhawa Shlok, College of Fisheries; Manvi Rajoria, College of Dairy and Food Science Technology; and Himanshi Gunje, College of Veterinary Science, Ludhiana, came first, second, and third, respectively, in the rangoli-making competition.
