The opposition parties and social workers of Doraha, sitting on a three-day hunger strike in front of the Doraha Community Health Centre (CHC) to press the government to begin the operations at the healthcare facility, today lifted the dharna after district administration gave its assurance to depute staff and begin operations with effect from tomorrow itself.

As leaders from different parties, social organisations and farmer unions came out in open support of the protesters, the administration had to accede to their demand and open the CHC from tomorrow by deputing staff on temporary basis from Payal CHC.

Payal SDM Kritika Goyal said, “We are trying our best to arrange staff for Doraha CHC. If everything goes fine, we shall be able to send the team tomorrow itself and open the CHC for the residents.”
