Under the All India Coordinated Research Project on Women in Agriculture (AICRP-WIA), the Department of Resource Management and Consumer Science (RMCS) at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) conducted a hands-on training session on ‘herbal soap making’ at Akalgarh village, Ludhiana. Thirty-five farm women participated, learning the process from sourcing raw materials to crafting lightly scented herbal soaps.
Dr Shivani Rana, a scientist at AICRP-WIA, shared insights on the monetary benefits of making herbal soaps at home, emphasising the potential for selling them at premium prices.
