PAU inks three pacts for its model biogas plant
Ludhiana, July 4
The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has inked three pacts with Saroja Sustainable Solutions Private Limited, New Delhi, for the commercialisation of its fixed dome-type biogas plant (family size) having a capacity of 1m3/day to 25m3/day, paddy straw based biogas plant made up of mild steel sheet (above the ground), and modified Janta model biogas plant having capacity from 25m3/day to 500m3/day technologies.
Dr AS Dhatt, Director of Research, PAU, and Roshan Shankar, Founder and CEO of the company, signed the MoAs on behalf of their organisations. As per the agreement, the university offers non-exclusive rights to the firm for the production of three technologies within country for a period of five years.
Dr Gursahib Singh Manes, Additional Director of Research (Agricultural Engineering), congratulated Dr Sarbjit Singh Sooch, Principal Scientist, Department of Renewable Energy Engineering, for having secured the commercialisation of the technology.
Giving details about the technology, Dr Sooch explained that the construction of this plant was easy and that it was an all-brick masonry structure. “This design is suitable for all regions of the country. The cost of this plant is 60-70 per cent compared to the cost of other conventional model biogas plant (floating drum biogas plants) and maintenance requirements of this plant are far less than the floating drum biogas plants,” he added.
Dr Khushdeep Dharni, Associate Director, Technology Marketing and IPR Cell, stated that PAU technologies were promoting sustainability and touching the lives of common citizens through the process of commercialisation.
