PAU hosts summer workshop on job interviews
The Department of Agricultural Journalism, Languages and Culture at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organised a two-day summer workshop titled ‘Cracking the Interview’ which aimed to equip the university students with the essential skills for excelling in job interviews.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from a large number of students, who engaged in interactive and practical sessions designed to prepare them for the competitive job market.
Students were provided with comprehensive guidance on conducting effective group discussions and crafting compelling CVs. A group discussion session on the topic ‘New Education Policy (NEP) and University Education: Pros and Cons’ allowed the students to share their perspectives, with each session recorded for personalised feedback.
Participants were also given a template to create effective CVs, emphasising their key skills, objective statements and strengths. Besides, the students were given video diary assignments, in which they interviewed farm experts, field workers, teachers and scientists to practice their interviewing techniques. Thereafter, simulated interview sessions were conducted, providing participants with a realistic experience of a professional interview setting.
