Participants from Patiala dominated the proceedings by winning maximum (6 gold medals) besides securing silver and bronze medals on the first day of the Punjab State Cycling Championship (track and road race) being organised by the Ludhiana District Cycling Association at the Punjab Agricultural University’s cycling velodrome on Saturday.

In the boys’ 500m time trials, Gagandeep Singh (Amritsar) secured the top spot. He was followed by Ekamjeet Singh (Patiala) in second place and Abhaydeep Singh (Amritsar) in the third spot. In the 2,000-meter individual pursuit, Gagandeep Singh (Amritsar) secured the spot.

In the girls’ 2,000-meter individual pursuit, Palakpreet Kaur (Amritsar) secured the top spot. She was followed by Preeti (Ludhiana) in second place and Guntas Sandhu (Patiala) in third place.

In the sub-junior boys’ category for the 2,000m individual pursuit, Gurtaran Singh (Patiala) secured the top spot. He was followed by Kunwarpreet Singh (Ludhiana) in second place and Karmanpreet Singh (Patiala) in third place. In the 500-meter time trial, Sohail Ahmed (Ludhiana) secured the top spot. He was followed by Kunwarpreet Singh (Ludhiana) in second and Aryan (Ludhiana) in third.

In the sub-junior girls’ category for 200m individual pursuit, Prabhjot Kaur (Patiala) secured the top spot. She was followed by Japnoor Kaur (Amritsar) in second place and Nisha Kumari (Ludhiana) in third place. In the 500-meter time trial, Prabhot Kaur (Patiala) secured the win. She was followed by Japnoor Kaur (Amritsar) in second and Nisha Kumari (Ludhiana) in third.

In the men’s elite category for the 1,000-meter tile trial, Tanveer Singh (Amritsar) secured the top spot. He was followed by Pardeep Singh (Amritsar) in second and Jashanpreet Singh (Patiala) in third. In the 4,000-meter time trial, Divjot Singh (Ludhiana) stood first. He was followed by Sahildeep Singh (Gurdaspur) in second and Rajbeer Singh (Railway) in third.

In the women elite category for 3,000 m individual pursuit, Rajbir Kaur (Punjab Police) secured the top spot. She was followed by Vidhi Tejpal (Ludhiana) in second and Pushpinder Kaur (Punjab Police) in third. In 500-meter time trials, Rajbir Kaur (Punjab police) secured the win. She was followed by Priyanka (Punjab Police) in second place and Pushpinder Kaur (Punjab Police) in third spot.

In the men’s junior category for the 3,000 m individual pursuit, Yuvraj Singh (Patiala) secured the top spot. He was followed by Jatin (Patiala) in second and Prashant Singh (Amritsar) in third spot. In the 1,000-meter time trial, Birpartap Singh (Amritsar) secured the top spot. He was followed by Sahibpartap Singh (Amritsar) in second place and Gurasees Singh Makkar (Ludhiana) in third.

In the women junior category for 2,000m individual pursuit, Damanpreet Kaur (Patiala) secured the top spot. She was followed by Manrozdeep Kaur (Amritsar) in second and Harshnoor Joshi (Ludhiana) in third. In the 500-meter time trial, Yaadvi (Patiala) secured the win. She was followed by Arshpreet Kaur (Amritsar) in second and Kritika (Ludhiana) in third.
