PANCHAYAT ELECTIONS: Rural police conduct flag march in Mullanpur Dakha
The Ludhiana rural police today carried out a flag march in Mullanpur Dakha in view of the upcoming panchayat elections.
The flag march was led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Dakha, Varinder Singh Khosa. A large number of police personnel were present.
“The panchayat elections are being held in the entire state and under the guidelines of Navneet Singh Bains SSP, Ludhiana (Rural), a flag march was today carried out in Dakha in which Inspector Hira Singh, SHO, Jodhan police station, SI Gurwinder Singh, SHO, Dakha, SI Jaswinder Singh, SHO, Sudhar police station, along with the heavy police force, took part,” the DSP said.
In a statement issued, he assured that the panchayat elections would be conducted peacefully
and adequate security arrangements had been made in every village. Even flying squad teams had also been formed jointly by the police and the administration.
Khosa said by dividing villages sector-wise, civil officers had been appointed as sector officers and the police administration had appointed police officers for managing law and order.
The DSP asserted that a flag march helps promote peace in the electoral process, demonstrating commitment to law and order. Every voter had the right to choose a good candidate by using his or her vote, which could lead to development in the villages.
Meanwhile, the police also interacted with voters and assured them that they could participate in the elections without fear.
Police officials said the people should inform the police control room if they notice any suspicious person or thing and immediate action would be taken to prevent any untoward incident.
