One fatality, 76 cases in a day in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, July 18
Seventysix people tested positive for Covid in the district today while one person lost his life to the virus.
The deceased was a 45-year-old man from Ram Nagar. He was also suffering from diabetes and a kidney disease. He was admitted at the CMCH where he breathed his last today. With his death, the death toll of Ludhiana district has reached 43.
As many as 17,666 persons have remained under home quarantine in the district and the number of such persons at present is 2,742. Today, 257 persons were sent to home quarantine.
Of 31 pending reports from Khanna, six have come out positive. The patients include a 40-year-old man from Prem Nagar, a 36-year-old resident of Uttam Nagar, a 48-year-old man from the Police Lines, a 29-year-old resident of Model Town, a 70-year-old woman from Nai Abadi and a 21-year-old woman from Mohanpur village.
A woman and a man from Krishna Nagar, who underwent the rapid antigen test at a flu corner tested positive today.
Two healthcare workers, a resident with a travel history of Gurugram, an inmate of Central Jail and another from Borstal Jail also infected.
The others testing positive belong to Rani Jhansi Road, Baba Deep Singh Nagar, Shaheed Karnail Singh Nagar, Shimlapuri, Chandar Nagar, Hussanpura, Model Town Extension, GK Estate, Friends Colony, Janta Nagar, Jammu Colony, Ferozepur Road, Mundian Kalan, Lohara, Kheri Chameri, Aggar Nagar and Kitchlu Nagar.
